Gp Capt TH Anand Rao (Retd)                                                                         Senior Fellow

Group Captain TH Anand Rao (Retd) is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Air Power Studies, New Delhi. He is an Alumnus of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. During his 33 years of service with the Indian Air Force, he has held several operational and staff appointments including Flight Commander of a Fighter Squadron, Chief Operations Officer and Flight Safety and Inspection Officer at two frontline air bases, and Joint Director Flying Training at Air Headquarters. He is a Qualified Flying Instructor and has flown various combat and training aircraft like the Jaguar, MiG-21, Kiran and HPT-32 with around 3000 hours of accident-free flying. He was awarded the Chief of Air Staff Commendation in 2011.

Anand Rao is a keen observer of the space domain. His area of interest is Space Security and Policy Analysis. He has written papers and articles on ‘space security’ issues. He has authored a book titled ‘India’s Space Security Dilemma’ released in 2021. He is also the editor of the aerospace journal, ‘Blue Yonder’. His present topic of research is Space Domain Awareness.
