Col Sushil Tanwar, VSM is a serving officer in the Indian Army . He is an alumnus of Military School(Ajmer), National Defence Academy(Pune) and Indian Military Academy (Dehradun). The officer has a rich experience of over twelve years in Counter Insurgency environment in J&K and commanded the elite 15 Corps Intelligence & Surveillance Unit.
He has attended several prestigious professional courses including Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Higher Command course at Mhow. He has also undergone the International Intelligence Director’s Course (IIDC) at King’s College, London.
The officer is a battle casualty during ” Op Rakshak” & has been decorated with COAS Commendation Card twice & GOC-in-C Northern Command Commendation card. On Independence Day 2021, he was awarded Vishist Sewa Medal.
Col Sushil has been posted as an instructor in two premier training establishments i.e Indian Military Academy Dehradun and Military Intelligence training school, Pune. The officer served as Military Information Officer in UN Peacekeeping Mission in Sudan. In 2018, He represented the Indian Army in ‘Ex Dragon Shield’, a multinational Intelligence Exercise held at a USA Army base in Japan.
He is presently associated as a senior fellow with Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS),
