Senior Fellow

Col Prateek Prashar has been in service for last 25 years and has vast experience in Counter Insurgency as well as Conventional operations in High Altitude terrain. The officer has been awarded two Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card for his role in Op Vijay and CI Operations. Officer has keen interest in Technology infusion in armed forces as well as Geo-Politics. Col Prateek Prashar has been part of faculty for mid-level officers of Indian Army and was Military and Air Attache at Embassy of India, Tehran which makes him part of a few who have experience of internal dynamics and security structures in Iran. Officer’s thesis on “Simmering Unrest in Iran” as part of his M Phil Research was awarded by Army War College, Mhow. Presently the officer is pursuing his Research Fellowship in CAPS, New Delhi and working on desired National Strategy for Iran and Afghanistan in current scenario.

Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) was established in 2001 as an autonomous defence research and analysis body for research and focused analyses on issues related to national security, defence, and aerospace issues in the evolving strategic and international security environment. Its objective is to facilitate greater understanding of these issues amongst the Armed Forces, the strategic community and the public besides contributing to policy generation and decision-making.
