Air Commodore S P Singh, VSM (Retd) Senior Fellow
Air Commodore S P Singh, VSM (Retd), was commissioned in Fighter stream of Indian Air Force in Dec 85. He has flown more than 3000 hours of flying on various fighter aircrafts including MiG 21 Bison and SU-30. He is a Qualified Flying instructor, Fighter Combat Leader and Instrument Rating Examiner. He commanded a Fighter Squadron and later a SU -30 Fighter Flying Operational Base. He has held prestigious appointments of Air-1, Western Air Command, Principle Director (Air Def and Weapon Sys) Air HQ, with two tenures at Strategic Force Command. He is an alumni of prestigious NDC, Army War College, Mhow and DSSC, Ooty. He is recipient of Presidential award and commendation by CAS. Post retirement, he worked as Strategic Analyst and advisor and has written many of his articles on various issues covering Air Power, Theater Command, China and Pakistan. Presently, he is working at Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) as Senior Research Fellow and is heading the team for research and analysis on Indo-Pacific issues.
